Funny enough, we got into this business by accident. Tanner, the founder, had been on the island for about six months, and it was now the middle of the pandemic. A friend of his invited him over to their newly renovated apartment at the beach. At the end of the night, as Tanner was leaving, his friends asked if he would rent their apartment from them. Now that their project was done, they were moving back to the states, and they wanted to rent their apartment to someone they trusted.

Tanner turned them down. It was a beautiful apartment with a spectacular ocean view, but there was no way he would be able to afford to live there. His friends insisted. They said they didn't want to find and manage another tenant, and they didn't want the hassle of putting it on Airbnb and trying to manage it from thousands of miles away.

Then Tanner had an idea.

"What if I put it on Airbnb for you? I'll handle everything- the listing, the guests, the cleaners, and I'll make sure you just collect a check every month."

His friends liked the idea. And thus BoricuaBNB was born.

That experiment turned out to be a successful one. In fact it became Tanner's main business just a few months later as it rapidly grew. Now, Tanner and his team have managed over a dozen successful properties, hosted well over 1,000 guests, and have plans to continue to grow.
